OPIE NEEDS VET CARE-FAMILY REFUSED TO FEED HIM

Opie was chained his entire life. A neighbor saw him getting skinnier and skinnier, and
contacted the people at the home. The person's brother, who had been living there, moved and left the
dog and does not want him. The people at the house said the dog wasn't theirs, so they were not
feeding or giving him water! They were just going to let him starve to death!


If rescue wasn't found, the people threatened to send him to the high kill, gassing shelter. Luckily,
Foreverhome K9 rescue in Iredell County, NC got wind of Opie's situation and contacted Dogs Deserve
Better.
In a joint effort, Foreverhome K9 rescue and Dogs Deserve Better worked together to save Opie. Opie
was surrendered to DDB and we found him a great foster home in Nashville, TN. Opie, as with many dogs
that live chained, had never been vetted and was heartworm positive. Opie needs vetting, neutering,
and his heartworms addressed.
